Prader Orchidometer는 고환의 크기를 측정하기 위해 사용되는 계기입니다.  1ml 에서 25ml의 크기 차이가 있는 12개의 구슬들로 연결이
되어있습니다. 구슬들은 환자의 고환과 비교할 수 있으며 사이즈가 가장 비슷한 구슬의 크기를 읽으면 됩니다. 사춘기 이전의 크기(노랑)는
1-3ml이고, 사춘기의 크기는 4-12ml (파랑)이며 어른의 크기는 12-25ml 입니다.

크기의 불일치는 다양한 질병의 중요한 단서가 될 수 있습니다. 작은 고환은 primary 혹은 secondary hypogonadism (생식선 기능 감퇴증)을
나타냅니다.

고환의 성장은 사춘기 육체의 첫사인이 되기 때문에 사춘기 시작의 지연을 확증내기 위해 가장 자주 사용하는 방법 중 하나입니다.
크기가 큰 고환(macrorochidism)은 정신지체의 일반적인 결과 중 하나입니다. Fragile X syndrome.

The Prader Orchidometer is an instrument used to measure the volume of the testicles. It consists of a chain of 12 numbered beads
of increasing size from 1 to 25 ml.

The beads are compared with the testicles of the patient and the volume is read off the bead which matches most closely in size.
Pre-pubertal sizes (yellow) are 1 to 3 ml, pubertal sizes are 4 to 12 ml (blue) and adult sizes are 12 to 25 ml.

Discrepancy of testicular size with other parameters of maturation can be an important clue to various diseases . Small testes can
indicate either primary or secondary hypogonadism. Testicular size can help distinguish between different types of precocious
puberty. Since testicular growth is typically the first physical sign of true puberty, one of the most common uses is as a confirmation
that puberty is beginning in a boy with delay. Large testes (macroorchidism) can be a clue to one of the most common causes of
mental retardation, fragile X syndrome.

An orchidometer (or orchiometer) is a medical instrument used to measure the volume of the testicles.

The orchidometer was introduced in 1966 by pediatric endocrinologist Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. Andrea Prader of the University of Zurich.
 It consists of a string of twelve numbered wooden or plastic beads of increasing size from about 1 to 25 millilitres. Doctors sometimes
 informally refer to them as "Prader's balls", "the medical worry beads", or the "endocrine rosary."

The beads are compared with the testicles of the patient, and the volume is read off the bead which matches most closely in size.
Prepubertal sizes are 1–3 ml, pubertal sizes are considered 4 ml and up and adult sizes are 12–25 ml.

The orchidometer can be used to accurately determine size of testes. Discrepancy of testicular size with other parameters of maturation
